I assume you are talking about the front door. There is a little round piece that you have to pop off(in the middle of the triangle). There is a screw in it that you have to unscrew. After that, IIRC you pull and its off. The interior door panel might be holding it on.

It's been awhile since I took it off.

**EDIT** To get that little circle pastic piece(thing to get to the screw) out, I took a pin and slowly worked it out.

Thats the way to do remove it alright.

Be careful of that little plug though. Its expensive if you mark it up too much. I took them off with a tiny screwdriver once. Cost me a couple bucks for that damn plug. Outrageous!

On my first Contour when I was trying to remove those caps to upgrade the speakers, I f'ed up the sail panel. When I upgraded the speakers on my SVT, I knew better and opted to drill out the $2 screw caps rather than mess up the $30 sail panels (not sure what they really cost, but more than the caps for sure). Supposedly duct tape has worked for people, but they were in too tight for me.

I used duct tape. It may not work at the first few attempts because of the greasy protectant or whatever you use to wipe off the plastic interior parts. However if you keep trying it with fresh adhesive batch for a while it will pop out. I've never bought any of those round cover while i removed my door panels 3-4 times with this method.

Oh i forgot to mention that the duct tape must be yanked up hard (one quick motion) after it adhered on that little round cover.
