Before the P1519 code, you had two likely issues:
1) Worn-out/lazy upstream sensors - both of them
AND
2) An intake vacuum leak. Usually caused by the PCV valve/hose or those crappy intake manifold gaskets which always seem to fail.
Sounds like the boys at that parts store were pretty clueless. A P1000 code isn't a scanner issue, it's an indication that the car's computer had been recently reset and that it had not completed all its diagnostics, some of which take several drive cycles and some of which require very specific operating parameters to be in place before the test will run.

Well, I had been out of town for the last week and a half, and now that I am back home, I got the car in to the shop. I am going to have them take a look at it. I trust these guys, even though they are not cheap. Not as expensive as a dealership, but still. I will let everyone know what happens when it is done so that it is here in the forums for reference. I am sure that I am looking at a $500+ bill minimum today, which sucks. With my luck, it will be a lot more because something else is wrong. Keep your fingers crossed.

OK. After the diagnostic, it was both O2 sensors. One was completely shot and the other was "lazy" and failing. Both were replaced today for $450 which included the diagnostic.
I knew that it would be pricey, but now I have the piece of mind knowing that it was just run through a diagnostic and that there is nothing else coming up as bad or failing.
At least that is what I am telling myself so that I can sleep easy tonight. I usually like to "do it myself" but right now with my new job, I just didn't have the time to dedicate to it in the evenings and my weekends are shot.

Don't be surprised when the P0171 and P0174 codes come back...
The "diagnostics" wouldn't be able to find your vacuum leak(s).
Trust me, been there, done that!

I know... But I am telling myself otherwise...
The O2 sensors were like $120 for Ford replacements when added to the $85 diag is $325. Throw in their labor at $125... Boom $450! (plus tax)...
Now to see if I get any better gas mileage with the new O2 sensors... I heard that it is possible...

Ouch!
$65 bucks each for Bosch O2 sensors from AutoZone.
Front sensor takes 5 minutes, the back one can take a half hour with some practice.
Get a "reach-around", at least??

I have codes showing 0135, 0136 & 0137. The indication is that the bank 1 o2 sensors are failing. I just had flywheel(whole other story) and clutch work done and am wondering if the mechanic banged or damaged the sensors. Also the local ford dealer quoted $85.00 to $105.00 for new sensors and was talking about sensor? exaust? calibration. Why can you buy bosch sensors for about half. Parts guy stated that bosch makes most of Fords o2 sensors. What is the difference? 75k on the sensors. Thanks Dan
Good Luck Dan
