And as for the wheels and tires... from tire rack:
18X9's ASA AR1 wheels (thats the cheap end of spectrum) $229 each.
with michelin pilots ($249 per tire 255/45-18 up front and $335 per tire 285/40-18 in the rear - again copmparable to OE equipment on the GT500) total cost not includiing shipping $2084. yeah you can get cheaper tires, but you aren't getting the performance of the OE tires (which are Goodyear F1 Supercars like on the Ford GT, the Koenigsegg CCr, and the McLaren F1)

And even if you saved money on the wheels, tires and brakes.. not only do you not get the performance but you still don't have the money to upgrade the area of the car that will be needed to handle the additional power with any durability.

Mark, its a moot point arguing. Some peolple don't understand the thoughts behind a wheel rounded car and what it would cost to build one. I gave up with my previous post, I'll let you fight the fight. :-)

First off, I know very well what a well rounded vehicle is... Volvo S60R, BMW M3, Mercedes E55 AMG. I'll stop there but I could go on and on. I understand that this will most likely be a great performance vehicle but what I don't understand is how Ford could produce this car, charge 40k or whatever it ends up costing and not address the little things that could make people say DAMN THAT LOOKS OUTRAGEOUS!!!!. Why not put a nicer set of wheels on it, and address the body kit that's on it? Working on just those two areas alone could really make the car stand out in a crowd. When you come on to an auto enthusiast website and you see alot of people divided on a vehicle that has been hyped so much, it has to somewhat concern the company that designed it. That's not to say that it will not sell well because there's obviously a loyal following of this car and they'll buy it regardless but I don't think Ford was expecting quite a few people to say it's bland, it could have been better, etc. I'm done arguing about this as it's not going to get us anywhere. If you guys like the car great, I simply think it could have been phenomenal with just a bit more work.
