They're all good. Get whichever one fits/looks best for/to you.

I'm thinking that 02 was the first year of the FI R6, but it might've been 03. And, if you're like me, I'd stay away from 1st year models. (Which is not to say that it'll give you problems... just... /me shrug).
Other than that, they're all about the same except for the rider position geometry. Get the one you feel fits your body the best.

I've sat on a GSX'r, but never ridden one.
I have ridden an 00 YZF R6...it was good, fun. I am no pro rider, so I think you need to ride them and decide. You do have your CY endorsment correct?

Im getting my CY next month, also anyone heard of a place called www.barry-motors.com? It sounds a little fishy to me since they do not have a number, address, or anything on their website. And iv been emailing the guy and stuff, and tried to call him but didnt even get a voice mail. Then someone calls back and it shows up as (000) 012-3456 on my caller id...sounds a little suspecious to me anyone else? Also those bikes are all under 3k...what gives...he said they are repo's....hmmm

I would go with the Yamaha, mainly cause I am partial to Yamaha's. It is also the newest in the bunch being an 02. The R6 had pretty much dominated the sportbikes during those years too. Whatever you get I hope you got some experiance on bikes, and hope you stay safe!

I like the Honda. I've owned Kaw's and Honda's; never even riden a Susuki. No real reason, just personal preferrence.
Way OT here, but today at the Novi Bike Expo, I fell in love.
They had a screaming yellow over black that was drop dead gorgeous...
EDIT: found it -
Naked Bikes are really growing on me...

I'm going to be getting a new bike soon as well. Time to trade up from my 01 Katana 600 to either GSXR1000 or R1. The Kat has been fun and it's not bad, I've just outgrown it.
How much you letting your gix6 going for?
