Sorry to hear, man. Personally, I will probably never fully understand the concept of pets... I mean, they require time, a considerable amount of money, and then they die, leaving you to grieve. :scratches head: I guess the fun in between must outweigh all that! They do become like family members, though. So again, my condolences to you and your girl.

My childhood dog bled internally for 6 months before it killed him. I loaded him into my Dad's car on a school day and came home to hear the bad news. I then had to go to work. So sorry.

well, if that's the case, why would you ever date or marry someone? or have kids?
plus, dog's never talk back, cheat on you, or take half of your belongings after running off with the pool boy. they just want to be your buddy, unconditionally. whats better than that?

Sorry for your loss, Bailey. Rest assured that your dog was better off than most because she had parents who loved her. Here's something nice to think about. Originally posted by TGO: After my current dog is gone, no more dogs for me. It ain't worth it.
I sort of felt that way too after I lost my dog, but I knew making that final decision is part of the responsibility one undertakes when adopting one. Plus, knowing how many great dogs are in shelters waiting to be adopted, I feel kind of selfish not currently having one (it's a temporary situation). I tell myself that my old mutt would be angry with me if I didn't give another shelter dog a good life.

i'm so sorry to hear that. It is tough, no doubt about that. Its amazing how close you can get to an animal. We had to put my dog down in 2003. We had her since i was 2, i was 18 when we put her down. We had her for as long as could remember. I have a new dog now, and she is awesome. The best dog i could ask for, but i still miss my old dog a lot.
