What is a good prouct, or a box set or something, that will make my car shine again. I waxed it a few months ago with some Simonize stuff, andI wasn't too happy with the results. I'm looking for something relatively cheap, (but I am willing to spend a little money on it for quality,) and something I can get at an autozone or pepboys or something. Nothing to serious, maybe a muliple step process or something, give me some ideas..

*POP* Hey! Who opened a can of worms in here?!? Maguire's if you're looking at Pep-Boys. Or Zaino at Zaino Bros. Let the war begin!

I use Meguires, and it works great. Have'nt used Zaino, but there are some hardcore Zaino people around here.

Well I know that there is the big rivalry between Zaino and Meguires.. I'm looking for specifics, what are the actual products by meguires. I was at the Mothers website and I got lost with all of their different options.

Step 1-Clay Bar 2. Paint cleaner (NOT a cleaner wax, though!) 3. 3M polish/swirl remover 4. Maguire's Gold Class Carnuba
you might want to wash with Dawn before beginning.

ZAINO SUCKS! Use Meguairs! *POP* who opened a can of arguments in here? (By the way, I could care less about car polish, I just wanted to ignite another conflict-filled Zaino post.) :p

I prefer Zaino. The place I bought it from, and of course this is biased, says there is a big difference in Meguiars compared to Zaino. In the lights the guy has in his garage, the Meguiars actually yellows the paint a little. I'll stick with Zaino.

It doesn't matter as much the end product you use, but more improtantly that you do all the steps before. 1: Wash with Dawn dishsoap to remove all prior wax 2: Use a clay bar to clean up the contaminants in the paint and give a smooth finish. 3: Wash again to remove clay bar residue 4: Somthing like Meguiars Dual Action Cleaner/Polish or 3M 39005 Perfect It II should be availible at some local auto parts stores. 5: If you are using a sealant, wash again 6: Protection via wax or sealant. Sealants are favored for light cars. Great durability and shine. Klasse, Zaino, Blackfire are all great. Sealants used on dark cars are very reflective and some don't like the look. So, a good wax will do, just not a cleaner wax. Meguairs Gold Class is good.

I'm very happy with my Zaino'd car. Previously, I was getting it professionaly detailed twice a year....being black, it's very tough to keep clean. The Zaino even lasts longer than the detailing stuff.

Meguiars rules. There is video proof of that floating around here from SZ.
