The products your bought to use on your car will last you quite a while, even if you do a clay and 3 step 3-4 times a year, they should last a couple years if not longer, so your $65.00 investment isn't too bad
Now as far as the average Contour owner buying/using Pinnacle "Souveran" on their cars, well, your right, but for those who want only the best, no matter what they drive will chose this product if they have black, red (enamel) or dark colored rides. You can expect about 25 wax jobs out of a container of "Souveran", so I ask you all, how long will it take you to wax your ride enough to empty that
As far as someone not being into detailing their Contours as much as say someone with a Ferrari, you'd be surpised 
I was at a local cruize night a couple years ago and there was a 360 Modena that was completely trashed, including alot of brake dust 
In addition to that ride, there was an equally filty Viper as well, so don't assume that because someone owns an exotic that they take care of it. Look at it like this, take what you have and try and keep it looking as new as possible 
and yes, you guys would make good mods for a detailing forum. when i mentioned wanting to be a mod i meant for any forum because i have no life outside the site. (not entirely true, but close!)
