Haven't used it yet, and it's killing me. 
It depends what product you are using. There should be little difference in dust/mess levels between hand and PC. I'll give more feedback this weekend when I try both ways with the same product.
From what you've said in the past hand applications seem to work just fine for you since you are detailing relatively new / well-cared for vehicles. So a PC may not be a "worthwhile" investment.
