The most widely used PC is thePC 7424 for it's ease of use. The kit is a bit pricey, but much cheaper than trying to piece together a set. It comes with everything you need for each stage of waxing and a detailing guide on how to use it. From what I've read, the PC is dummy-proof.

With a dark colored car you should top it with something to add more depth, shine and durability. P21S is very good. I've also heard great things about Natty's Blue really bringing out the metallic in dark colors.
