WTF? As previously posted by me. You're not going to screw anything up with an orbital. A polishing wheel yes you'll eat through the paint if you let it sit too long and press hard. I don't know anyone would hand wax a car after using one. Works better then hand IMO. You can push an orbital into the paint and it's not going to do anything to it unless you have sand on the buffing wheel. I'm sorry but you're an idiot if you wax more than 4-5 times a year w/o an orbital. The ease of application, time, and coverage alone is work the whole $30 on one. I bought mine at freakin' Meijer. I will never hand wax a car after using a 10" orbital. I can do 2 coats in 25 minutes with no sweat hitting the ground.
