Also from what I remember the water quality over the pond is much worse then it is here. A high metallic content in the water can accelerate head gasket failures. (i.e. hard water)
A would STRONGLY recommend deionized water and a high quality NON-PHOSPHATE & NON-SILICATE antifreeze mix. Then again that's what I recommend for any cooling system.
