he also said that the head gasket was a major problem on the duratech and that mine was starting to go. he said thats why the oil looks murky(which it doesnt) and the coolant is murky in the bottom of the resivoir(which it isn't) also thats why the cams tick a bit when its cold. it does tick, but i dont know why. any thoughts on this? i think for the most part it was a saleman pitch to get a better price for himself.
Bwahahahah!
The head gasket is going so you have ticking lifters? Murky coolant and oil?? If your head gasket is gone, its gone. There is NO "going" or in between stage, most especially for these engines. The guys a retard and a scam. I can see trying to get a deal, but I HATE lowballers like that. Holy cow, he needs to get more creative than that tripe....or maybe less creative....more realistic! If the gasket is gone you probably will get some water in the oil and it would look milky. You probably will get a constant stream of bubbles in the coolant tank or even blow out hoses. Most importanly you will get whitish smoke and steam from the tailpipe as water and oil from passages forces its way in to the cylinder on the intake stroke and is pushed out. Not to mention it runs really really bad.
These engines RARELY have head gasket issues.
Tell him to go suck...an egg.
