knee was down at 11. Next play VY runs the ball and all of the USC defenders get out of the way and let him score just like every other time he ran the ball. Complaining about officiating is useless, if you didn't play well enough to overcome a couple bad calls you didn't deserve to win. The game came down to USC not executing on 4th and 2, not a bad call.
True, but if they get that call right, they likely aren't in the game. USC didn't do what they had to do, simple as that. But, the officiating put them in a position where Texas was able to come back.
And if they had called Kelson's interception properly then Texas could have widened the gap at half-time. Or maybe it not being called properly just strengthened their effort to pull through in the second half. Or maybe Texas couldn't have returned it for any points, but with a halftime score of 16-7, USC is demoralized and gets stomped in the 2nd half, or perhaps it would rally them for a total domination. Who knows. You can "What if" a game to death if you really want.
What about the Texas fumble in the 4th they called an incomplete catch. that was a fumble.
No game should be decided on bad calls. If you do play well enough to win you should not be short changed by an officials call.
That incomplete pass could have gone either way. What about that crap of a late hit call in the first quarter, if that call wasn't made USC would have never scored. This could seriously go on forever. Matt Leinhert has said himself I feel like we lost, and we didn't do enough to win. Lets face it USC lost and Texas won, I as well hate games with shotty officiating. But it happens and at times it happened last night.
I'm not sure that you can really make the arguement that USC played well enough to win and the officals blew it. Texas most certainly played well enough to win and they did. Hey, all USC had to do was stop Vince Young on the last drive and they couldn't. So Texas deservingly wins the National Title.
