I personally think that his success in the NFL is up in the air. Vince Young is a fast strong runner with a strong accurate arm. My problem is his throw and release, it is so low almost like a sidearm and I think that may really hurt him in the NFL.
I think he has enough athletic ability to make it in the NFL as a quarterback. He will have to revamp his throwing motion though, but with a quality QB coach that shouldn't be a problem. I wasn't all that impressed with his throws yesterday, he didn't make a single difficult throw that I can remember, he just had the luxery of lobbing the ball wide open recievers. The one throw he tried to throw into coverage should have been intercepted but the LB dropped it. The reason he was so impressive yesterday was his 200 yards rushing, but that would not happen against NFL linebackers, the amount of missed tackles by USC yesterday was astounding.
A primarly running quarterback can only make it so far in the NFL. Look at Mike Vick. The first few years he was in the league he could run all over everybody, but his passing ability is still subpar. That got the Falcons to the NFC championship last year, but they missed the playoffs this year and still haven't had back to back winning seasons. Eventually opposing coaches are going to figure out how to gameplan against you, but the one thing you can't gameplan for is precise passing. There are holes in every defense and if you have a quarterback who can consistently find them and deliver the ball in the right spot you are going to score consistantly. If Vick or Young can develop that skill as well as the ablility to run, they would be very successfull (aka McNabb the previous 3 years)
