What's worse: the hating, or the loving that we had to listen to for the last month? In my view, the hating is just a backlash from the constant worship that went on this season. You think they should have to prove that they're the best team in a particular season before people start calling them the greatest team of all time.

anyone else have to wonder about youngs ability to do well in the pros? does he have the arm for it?
He seems to be somewhere between Vick and Culpepper. He seems to be more accurate than Vick and a bit better runner than Culpepper. I think he'll do fine.
Texas played well and had a couple of calls go there way. I don't think they were the better of the two teams. Best player yesterday was obviously Young, but it's hard to take anything away from Bush and Leinart. I still feel the last 3-4 years from USC teams have been the best college teams I have seen. Better than the 1994 Penn State team, better than the 95 Nebraska team, and better than my prior fav, the 1997 UofM team. This years version of USC wasn't quite as good as the last two on the defensive side, but it was still damn good. For the people who thought they haven't beaten the best teams, don't kid yourself, they more than likely would have walked over every team you thought they should have played. Auburn, LSU, or whoever, would have had the same result.

That was exactly the same thing they said about them against Texas.

well, during all of this worshipping, they won two titles and went undefeated into the national title game again. oh, and what about that win streak???
yeah... they definitely don't deserve the praise.

The last few years they had a very good defense to go along with their offensive juggernaut. This years defense was weaker. I didn't think Texas would win and they shouldn't have, but they did. I don't think it takes anything away from the absolute dominance they showed the last few years.

I mean, it's hard to argue against a team with Larry Phillips who was a great football player in between beating up women but USC was a better team, (especially last years version).

I'm not referring to them being a great team or not. I'm talking about everyone calling them the greatest team ever. That obviously wasn't deserved, because they weren't even the greatest team this year.

Hey, the best teams need a few thugs. If USC had some prominent ones they'd receive more consideration as the best team ever.
Not sure how you call them a better team than 95 Nebraska, but I'll let the statistics and general consensus speak for my opinion.

well, when you have a long win streak, and back to back titles, people are going to start saying things like greatest ever. get over it.
