I think Reggie Bush deserved it. The guy was incredible during the season. His talent and potential are huge. I think they should have a bowl MVP sperate from the regular season one.

If they would have a MVP seperate from the regular season then what would be the point of counting bowl stats towards regular season stats? Personally I think that if you're going to count bowl stats towards the regular season then you should wait to make your awards until after the bowl season. Don't get me wrong I also think that Reggie Bush deserved the Heisman, but I also think that Vince Young deserved it. After watching the Rose Bowl it made me think that Vince deserved it more than Reggie. Vince was also incredible during the regular season. I mean he was the first college player ever to pass for 2500 yards and rush for 1000 yards in one season. Potential really has nothing to do with the Heisman, it is meant to be given to the most outstanding player in college football for that season. There are countless players that won the Heisman in the past that had squat for potential.

Because most of us are watching the game not surfing the web. Killer game. Im so glad USC finally lost. They had to many close games this year to be champs.

Personally, I'm not surprised at Vince's performance. USC's defense was ranked 109 and that was against so so teams. Reggie Bush faced the toughest defense he has seen all year.

We all know that money and politics will keep the fans from getting what they want, a playoff. I'm bringing this up for the simple fact that if there was a playoff similar to what we have in division I-AA, perhaps we could truly see how talented Bush and Young are or aren't. They would have had to face some of the toughest oppenents they would have seen all year. USC's toughest oppenent before Texas was Notre Dame and Texas' toughest oppentent before USC was Ohio State. After that who all were these teams truly challenged with?

2 nights of fantastic football (Orange & Rose)

Still, I miss the weekend game. This up until 1:00am crap during the week is killing my beauty sleep and, according to Mx's diagnosis of my Old Timers Disease, affecting my memory. Silly west coast!

Vince was amazing, and after USC beating UofM last year, I'm just a teeny, tiny bit glad USC got "hooked."

My college football priorities go like this:

Michigan State
Arizona State
Michigan
Any Big Ten school
Notre Dame
Auburn
everyone else

Hey, now that the pigskin is done, March Madness is only 2 months out. See you in Indy! Go Green!!!!!!!!!

D1 college football is a disgusting joke. USC didn't play the best teams from their championship years yet got rediculous hype about "dynasty" this and "best team ever" that. I'm glad Texas won just to shut ESPN the hell up.

And is there any doubt who should have won the Heisman? Bush isn't so fantastic when he isn't lined up opposite the 4th best team from the WAC. Sportwriters and pundits need to quit listening to themselves and actually watch some games once in a while because reality is far different than the fantasy land they've created.

P.S. I would love to see Mcnair tutor Young and bring the Titans back to the SB.

With the Cowboys in such bad need of a QB (Bledsoe is good, but let's face it, he's gettin' on in years). If Young is indeed good when placed against Pro-level players, I could see Dallas puttin' up a good fight for him.

Werd. Every year, the team that wins the championship is 'the greatest team ever', and the best player in that game is 'the greatest college football player' ever. I, and I assume many others, get sick of the ESPN (and others) hype machine. Bush and Leinart, who according to the ESPN Machinea are 1-2 in the greatest college athletes of all time, were outclassed last night.

I enjoy and respect college and pro athletes, but I think we could all do without the ridiculous hype and coverage that ESPN gives.

i think this piling on of USC hating is stupid. it took everything texas had to get by them.

anyone else have to wonder about youngs ability to do well in the pros? does he have the arm for it?
