This reminds me, somewhat, of a conversation I had with a christian friend of mine when we were discuss UFOs and life on other planets. I was trying to tell him with the quadrillion-billion-billion-etc..etc... Stars in our universe alone, it's a little tough for me to believe that we're the only one with even plant life! He went off one some Jesus son of God tirade that made no sense, of course.

Then I just said: "You can believe a guy cured lepers by touched, turned water into wine and walked on water - all by word of mouth but you don't believe in the possibilities of life on other planets? That's funny."

Of course, I also think he thinks the planet is what... 6000 years old?
