All of this arguement about religion and who said what and how everything is interpreted drives me crazy and makes me happy that I am agnostic. My theory on religion: it was created to provide a set of morals and values and to give man a "reason" why we are here.

Now to the pot arguement. A lot of my friends are in the pharmacy program which requires a 3.8gpa. They smoke a fair share many times a week, they arent "dumb" or "burned out." It really bugs me that "potheads" are looked down upon by society and are labeled as criminals or losers. Most are peaceful indivuals.

The only crime involved is with the dealers. For someone to sit there and smoke up in peace and just relax should not be a crime, while getting totally wasted and being loud, obnoxious, vomiting, stumbling etc is generally accepted. Alcohol brings out totally different personalities in people. I don't see anything wrong with drinking in moderation.

If pot was to be legalized, it should be treated the same way as alcohol. There needs to be a set of standards established and it should be regulated and taxed. If the "crime" were to be taken out of pot, then that frees up more time for cops to focus on serious crimes and cracking down on harder drugs.
