Probably could save the world. Food, Fuel, Fiber, the worlds ultimate plant.

I don't believe Jesus was using marijuana in the recreational way that most users use it today. I believe he was aware of its medicinal properties and used it as such. Because of this, I don't think that cannabis use in Biblical times should be used as an arguement for recreational marijuana use in modern times. It can however, be used as a valid arguement for medicinal use.

In any case, I think marijuana should be legalized. It needs to be regulated, it can create more jobs and tax revenue, and is much safer than alcohol.

I think legal marijuana's biggest detractor is the stereotypical pot head. Much of society believes that marijuana plays a major role in the pot head's laziness and other faults, when in fact, these people were already prone to laziness.

Also, the arguement that marijuana is a gateway drug is moot. Any easy to obtain drug can be considered a gateway drug. I believe tobacco/alcohol should be considered gateway drugs before marijuana. But without any of these substances, some other drug would be the gateway drug.

I feel that we'd be better off without any 'drug' (used solely for mind altering purposes), but obviously we have them. We need to make the best out of the situation, rather than push it off as just 'bad and illegal'.

Of course Jesus knew of it's medicinal uses, his Father created the freaking plant didn't he

Reasons I think Ganja should be legalized:

1) It is a plant that you smoke. There is no manufacturing of it like Alcohol, Coke, Heroin, or any prescription drug for that matter

2) There have been NO, None, Nada reported deaths related to the use of MJ (Other than the drug dealer part). Including overdose or health related items.

3) There are multiple uses besides getting a buzz. The medicinal uses on top of the industrial uses.

4) It would bring in tons of money and create jobs (as stated above). And can be grown fairly easily (www.overgrow.com).

5) Most people that drink and drive do stupid things, most people that smoke and drive get anxious and nervous and drive slower and more carefully than drunk drivers.

6) And back in the day (before I had kids) It really helped me unwind after dealing with people like you guys all day.

Just my .02$

And the #1 reason for it NOT to be legalized....

1. Heeeeeeeeyyyyy maaaaaaaaan, weeee're taaaaalkiiiiing iiiiiin sloooooooow moooooootion maaaaaaaaan.

I've never been around one person that was stoned who actually made any sense. To tell me that your senses aren't impaired is 100% BS. Just because you drive UNDER the speed limit, doesn't mean that you won't still do something stupid behind the wheel that gets SOMEONE ELSE killed!

I don't think Bill's advocating making it legal to drive while high. He's just saying it's better to be sharing the road with a stoner than a drunk, which I agree with 100%.

Who said that it doesn't impair the senses?

I'd rather noone drive while under the influence of ANY drug, including alcohol, BUT if I had to choose, I'd rather someone be high than drunk when driving.

And I've been around plenty of people that have made sense while high. Usually not, but sometimes (with smart people anyways) intelligent conversation can be had while high.

Please elaborate. Just because society has transfused anti-marijuana thoughts into your thinking doesn't mean anything. You need to step back from what everyone has told you and think logically about it for a minute.
