While this is a good point, it assumes that 2000 years ago they knew the effects of marijuana on the body which they surely didn't.

We also know for a fact, according to even the US federal government, that marijuana does significantly less physical and neurological damage than alcohol consumption does. And we know for a fact that Jesus drank alcohol.
