Sorry, that last post was just too long. Anyway, moving along to your other questions. To take off the control panel, you need to unscrew the two screws that hold it to the dashboard first. Reach through the steering wheel and feel around the top of the plastic piece. There are 2 phillips head screws in those holes. It's a major pain in the @$$, but it's necessary. Next, pop out the "Contour" or "Mystique" dash badge (or clock) with a screwdriver, being careful not to scratch it. Behind that are 2 screws that you need to take out. Next, pop out the defroster switch the same way and unscrew the last screw, Now just pull it out of the dash, unplug the wires and voila! Paint away. I have to go look at my car to see how to do the climate control/stereo moulding, and I'll post that later. The vents will all pop out of the moulding with a little provoking and care.
