"Best"? Best build quality yes. Nice it also doesn't have returnless as well. I have to agree with Alias for once. The 5 less hp isn't anything anyone will notice.

My 2000 contour also has the original gear (knocks on wood) and gets regular use. I wonder why this happens to some and not others? I wonder if Bill Jenkins knows if another model would fit. I agree though it would fustrate the hell out of me too.

My parents had a problem with the factory sunroof on thier lincoln ls and the dealer subbs out sunroof and audio stuff even factory installed and it still binds up on the track at times even after 3 visits. They are fighting with lincoln to replace the whole sunroof.

I am just curious, what does the gear look like, also what does it connect too. what would be next on the list to go if we made that gear metal. I want to know because I work in mechanical power transmission and could possibly get a bronze or metal version of the gear.

Hey If you'd like I'll send you my old one if you'll make a new gear for it. PM me if interested.

PS: new to forums not sure how to quote properly yet.

I was actually wondering if there was anything like that out there. How would i go about getting one of those and how bad will it look in the Contour if it even fits?

You can sorta see what it looks like on Mirez.co.uk.

I just found a kit to put the power stuff in a crank one... can't find the crank set off ebay. Probly something they just toss out when they part out the car.

You can check around MEG and see what they've got going on.

Well that isn't at all what i thought it would look like. I wouldn't mind having the manual crank at all. You wouldn't happen to know where I could find one of those other than via junk yard?

Thanks Kane.

I'm not having any luck at all finding a manual crank setup. I've tried ebay and classifieds. I've googled as well. Anyone have any insight?
