Welcome to the Scion club. I love flint mica. I wish the xB was offered in that color.

Did you get a spoiler? I think that's the only option I'd get - I think the rest of the options are "racer boy" as well.

Drove a Mazda3s yesterday. Really nice little car. That is most loaded compact I have even been in. I think it was 20k. They need to come down about $1500. Lots of deals on the '05 5 doors. The g/f didn't like those though. Said they looked like a wagon. Could get a M6s with the 5 speed for about 20k. It looks like we're trying to decide between the 6 and the 3. The 3 is so nimple and peppy with the 2.3 and auto. She doesn't want a stick. Blah. They had a demo M6i for 18k which I thought was a great deal. Only 5k on it. Was a hatch so lots of cargo room with the seats down. 2006 Mazda6 in black cherry is my pick. 26k loaded is a bit much though.

I like the Mazda3 5-door too, Todd, and Amy said the exact same thing "Looks like a wagon!" when we were searching for cars.
WTF is it with American's and their fear of "wagons" when every other assclown out there is driving an SUV - which is a station-wagon, only lifted? And case in point - she had a CRV before we got the tC.

The 3 hatchback look WAY better than the sedan and has a ton more practicality and cargo space.

Yea I'm going to use that argument. The 5 door is so much more useful/practical. Both the 4 and 5 doors have folding rear seats. The 6 doesn't. Only the hatch's have folding seats. Like her Escape is annnyy different. Wish the Mazda3 had traction control like the 6. Wouldn't bother me but she's leary about getting out of 4wd. Gimme a break you never use it. I had to tell her how to turn it on.

Amy was the same. Her tC is just fine in the snow, even with the low-pro's that come with it.

Honestly - get her to look at the Scion tC; it BLOWS the 3 out of the water for power/torque, performance, handling, looks, resale, interior appointments, sotck alloy 17's, full glass panorama roof, nice seats, most importamtly PRICE.......AND it's a Toyota (#1 carmaker in the world!)

Um, yes it does. All models do except the MazdaSpeed. And, technically, it does too.

Mazda just removed the plastic latches on the MazdaSpeed (because they put a set of steel crossbars across the opening), the mechanism is still there, you just have to pull back the cover and pull it by hand.

That said, the 3 still has much more room for carrying stuff compared to the 6 Sedan (I own both a 6s Sedan, and a 3s Hatch). I find the 3s to be plenty capable of hauling most anything I'd need an SUV to haul. It's the things I'd need a pickup truck (primarily because of height, so an SUV wouldn't help) for that I have a problem with.

I saw a black cherry Mazda 6 wagon at the gas station yesterday. It had a light tint job, I was impressed If I were in the market for a new car and needed the cargo room i'd jump on one.I hear they are cheap too!

Um sales guy said it didn't and I tried to physically fold them and didn't have anything like the 6 hatch. Some magic way? Sales guy was only there a month so maybe that's why he said they didn't fold on the sedan. I saw where the seats were split through the trunk. Was strange.

On the Wagons, they fold down the same as they do on the hatch (at least I believe so).

On the Sedans the latches are in the trunk right under the top edge; one on each side. They're easy to miss because of the thick weather-stripping around the trunk, but they're there.
