actually clearcoat is applied to a dry basecoat.. if not then the clear would cause the metalics to run in the basecoat. What color calrs seem to be peeling? The only cars I know of that were peeling form the factory we grey,silver or lt blue metalic f-series trucks.I talked to a friend at the ford dealer today and he said he hasnt heard of any contours w/ a factory peeling problem.

Mine is medium steel blue.

My factory paint (black) cracked all over the hood, roof and trunk. I suspect those surfaces cracked first because they're horizontal and more heavily exposed than the sides. I wanted a full repaint since it was probable the entire car was affected, but Ford would only pay for the visibly damaged surfaces.

I know lots of people have had similar problems, it's in the archives...

My car is the dark metallic green??? I don't know what the actual name for the colour is.
