If you want just send me a PM(maybe some pics too)!

Not trying to rush ya or anything.

My contract was up at ExxonMobil. Since they are not doing well, they are letting the contractors go, as well as laying of "real" employees. I do SAN administration/achitect. Data storage specialist. I was in charge of around 220TB of data.[/b]
Not to hijack the thread, but I remember hearing not too long ago that even though the oil companies were claiming that they were forced to raise gas prices due to OPEC, they still recorded record profits. I remember hearing that specifically about Mobil. Wonder what kind of bonuses the top 10% took to put those companies in dire straights?

The junior VP's and up don't know how to manage. So, instead of producing a quality service/product, they would rather their "numbers" look good to the senior VP's and up. Not to mention the almighty shareholder that has the potential to wreck havoc on thier retirement. Sad but true. One would think the largest company in the world (next to Wal-Mart) would want a faster disaster recovery time than 72 hours. I know banks that get upset if it is longer than 1 hour.

Sorry to rant.

The headlights and taillights will be finished soon enough.

From a CEG'er and American standpoint, I hate to see people lose thier jobs.
As an ExxonMobil shareholder, I don't mind the downswing, as I am just buying more shares cheaper...
I do not like that it is at the expense of others' jobs, though.

At DC we have three locations for our backend, one normal and two DR sites. All three are always live and we have an uptime of 5 9s, 99.999! If we're down for more than 15 mins, and its not scheduled, woo-hoo, heads will be rolling!

Edit: Patiently waiting for headlamps... wink :p
