Well,I rolled over 295 000km this afternoon on my Duratec. I purchased the car on April 29,'05 with 260 811km on the clock.
I know it'll have over 300k on it by the time I get rid of it next year......if it's still running. I'm hoping for some sort of unfortunate event to unfold and render the car useless so I can go ahead and get my new truck sooner, but at the same time,I'd like to see it surpass 300 000km.
After buying the car,I spent over $3500 in repairs within the first 13 000km of ownership, and to date, have thrown over $8000 at the car in repairs and modifications. I got so burned with this car. With the money spent on it,I could have already had almost half of the truck I want to buy paid off by now.
However,I have to commend the Contour on it's durabilty and quality. I still absolutely love Contours, but I need a truck as a daily driver. I could use a Contour as a fun car,but I have no money or space for 2 vehicles,so I just need one all round vehicle that can do everything and not have to worry about it. Every time I get in my Contour I wonder what's going to break next just due to the wear and tear because of the mileage.
