The dyno was performed Summer of 2005.
The car is a 1998, so I am not sure what Todras is referring to.

I garaged the car after this dyno and havent had it out since. (no money for insurance)

Anyways, this is a dyno and drag forum, not a "Find every mistake on a post and flame the poster for it" forum. I am sometimes scared I will even get flamed for grammatical mistakes and spelling errors, much less an error in date. This is a great site except for the flamers that roam around.

Not sure why the dyno shows the wrong date, but who cares? Those are some good numbers! What mods were on the car at the time of the dyno?

Yeah, really nice torque curve and three consistent runs. You can quote with confidence that you have about a 170 wHP 2.5L. That aint too shabby when Mazda6 3L's are only dynoing in the 160-180s. Stock that is.

I agree, his runs look like mine from last fall. I need to go back to the dyno to see if any of my repairs and mods have done anything.

I went to the dyno a few months ago and found that my FMS wires were crapping out on me. Also realized that I needed a heatshield. It made 167whp and had big misfires at 6000 and 6500rpm. The hp lines looked ike an earthquake.

Its all better now. I think it will pick a few hp over my first dyno at 169whp.

I am hoping to get MSDS soon. Do you think that MSDS will add anything to this? I feel like I might be pushing the limits of the 2.5 N/A without porting.

Here's the engine mods:

KKM Intake
Pro-Flow MAF
Rubber Intake Bellows replaced by Jet-Hot coated tube
2000 Contour SVT LIM
SP-Motorsports Optimized Y-Pipe with
Magnaflow CAT
Stock Resonator replaced with straight-thu pipe
Stock Mufflers and Tips

Still has cats in the factory headers. Sometime I wish I had gutted them, but I figure I'll have MSDS soon.

That A/F ratio looks pretty good for an untuned car. I think you'll get around 180whp with the headers. After that I don't know.

to get the most from the headers and your other mods you really need to get that thing dnyo tuned,or at the very least a ADC sct chip..theres still a few things you could do for some hp,have buckshott optimize your tb,optimize the lim(use locktight!!) have the uim max extrune honed, headers and a good y pipe,2.5" exhaust...

Although mostly good advice, I have to dispel one myth....
Tuning required for most mods, this is no longer true anymore.
When at one time this was accepted philosophy, we have now learned through trial and error as well as from the new tuning software that there is NO need to tune intake and exhaust mods.

The reason is simple. Improvements to the intake and exhaust which increase airflow will automatically be compensated for by the PCM adding fuel when the MAF counts more air coming in.

You dyno tune when you need to alter the air fuel ratio that the factory has set. Most factory A/F is set quite rich under wide open throttle so we tune to lean it out a bit and so doing we gain power, sometimes lots of power.
The other thing we tune for is increase timing so to make more power and stay on the edge of not pinging/detonating.

So he can optimize all he wants, put headers on and open up his exhaust/intake and he won't need a dyno tune at all until:
- he exceeds the capability of his MAF to count air mass
- he exceeds the fuel delivery capability of his injection system
- or he wishes to alter preset factory air fuel, timing, or other things.
