well the car in question was a 2000 Ranger so it was a toss-up.

Just find ignition wire in HU harness? Multimeter, 5 minutes?

Use the fuse box and a $2 circuit tester. Easy as hell.

Nah, not if he uses one of those plugs that looks like a fuse. It would be especially good if wanted to take it in and out on a semi-regular basis.
