So I go down to my local dealer today to get a new blower motor resistor and I figure while I was there I would also ask about making an appointment to have my PCM updated. I have 2 CEL codes I can't seem to get rid of no matter what. A friend of mine with a SVT said just go to Ford and ask them to reflash it and they will do it for free.

I ask the service desk about making an appointment to have it done, takes all my information, and says ok, we can do it next week, it'll be about $85 (a hours labor).

So I made the appointment anyways and will decide during the week if I'm doing it or not. Most likely not.

My questions are, is the dealer supposed to charge for this or not? Is it a waste of time/money anyways if I get the car tuned for the 3L?

I'm waiting for the tuning because I am nowhere near done with the exhaust. It's all stock. And a little problem with money.
