That same thing happened to me this year. I had just had wheel bearing replaced 3-4 days prior. I drove to work that morning (Friday) it was noisy on the way home. Drove around some with my son on Sat., and it was getting noisier (but I didn't realize what it was...) was planning on calling the shop on Monday. Pulling out of a drive-through and they went. Sheared off 3 of the lugs. Luckily we were going 2 mph, and the owner was so apologetic when I called him, that he showed right up with his tow-truck and fixed it within a couple of days. No charge, of course. My fender was only slightly damaged (which he did not fix).
We were lucky. I was 3 minutes from the highway.
I'm glad you are OK. It could have been worse.
