...did you check them in the 1500 miles? on aluminum wheels you should check about 100 miles after the install...

I don't mean to reiterate what Chris already said, but definately check the torque on the lugs after you get to your FIRST destination post-tightening, and re-check continually that same day out of healthy paranoia.
My lugs came looser than I'd like them to be after one drive post-retightening (two lugs on each front wheel took a half turn to re-tighten to spec). OK, so I'm not the strongest man on earth, but I'd expect them to be solid in place.
Hey, look on the bright side. Bmonje did a rotor slide from 65mph and half his rotor disappeared

I say unload the car after it is fixed, sounds like a money pit.

That same thing happened to me this year. I had just had wheel bearing replaced 3-4 days prior. I drove to work that morning (Friday) it was noisy on the way home. Drove around some with my son on Sat., and it was getting noisier (but I didn't realize what it was...) was planning on calling the shop on Monday. Pulling out of a drive-through and they went. Sheared off 3 of the lugs. Luckily we were going 2 mph, and the owner was so apologetic when I called him, that he showed right up with his tow-truck and fixed it within a couple of days. No charge, of course. My fender was only slightly damaged (which he did not fix).
We were lucky. I was 3 minutes from the highway.
I'm glad you are OK. It could have been worse.
