Well FYI you should replace your water pump about every 60k. They are not made to last forever.

Thanks for all the help guys. I went ahead and used the case because of the loose metal disc on my old one. I did go out and buy a metal impellar pump from Napa for $66, however I did this before seeing your posts that the updated plastic impellar is fine. Anyhow I have that new pump sitting in the box the next time I need to replace one of these, which shouldn't be too long since there are two other Contours within the family.
