I just finished beating Thief 3 Deadly Shadows.

Anyone else play this series?

I love the Thief series, there has never been a better first person stealth/shooter game yet......

Anyway, I was just wondering who else played Thief, what they thought and are there any die hards out there who play the fan missions.
I'm trying to download T2X expansion right now and everythings packed full.

Well, gotta say that Garret is the [censored] and if you haven't tried this series but like 1st person games, you owe it to yourself to pick up a copy of one or all of them.

I love thief. I just love the fact that its a very stealthy game. I rented the first one for about 2 weeks. I think I was pretty close to beating it, but my Xbox took a dump so i lost all my progress.

Too bad. Thats why PC's are better! You really need to try Thief: The Dark Project, the first one. It is damn close to 10 years old now but still plays awesome. Thief2 still looks really good but is going 5 or 6 years or so IIRC.

I can't say enough good about it. Everyone should experience thief.

The original Doom and Doom2 were the best 1st person shooters obviously, but when stealth was brought in Thief is IT. And the story line, my God it's better than most good movie plots.
They should make a movie of Thief 1, but I'm sure it will suck...

I think i remember my cousin having the first thief for his PC. Is it that one where you have to beat the devil at the end or something and he loses his eye?

Yep! Well, it isn't the Devil but he looks close. He's a pagan god called The Trickster.

I prefer Hitman 2 and 3, personally, but have all of the Thief series, as well.

I must say that the third installment of Theif is the better of the two series, I will give it that. Excellent game, and the first is awesome, regardless of age.

I think 3 is a great game with a story line more reminiscent of the First one. I really liked the mission in the first one.

There are only three things that really piss me off about #3:

1.) No more Rope arrows -- how lame is that!!
2.) No more swimming in water! You fall in water and you die now! Dumb.

Improvements:

1.) Climbing gloves kick arse! Combined with a rope arrow and you'd be in business.
2.) New lockpicking mechanism is awesome
3.) Graphics and lighing are awesome.

Needs a patch to fix the above problems and a new level editor like Dromed for T1/2 so fans can begin to build some new levels and expansions.
