Just went out and started my car and had light snow on the windshield so I did a quick wipe. About 5 minutes later did the same thing on the highway and all of the sudden the wipers stopped in the middle of the passage and stayed there. Could still hear the motor working and it stayed on the intermittent cycle even when I shut it off. Thinking gears maybe, any ideas?? Could manually push the wipers back to starting point easily

I had a similar problem last winter. One of the windshield wiper bolts had come loose...I had to tighten the bolt at the base of the windshield wiper. It might have a protective covering over it that you need to snap off. It might be worth taking a look at.

just took everything apart and one of the wiper motor drive arms had popped off the arm. A few layers of skin off my knuckles and I am wiping again... Thanks for the reply
