I was comming home from school last winter with my 93 f-250 running late on picking up my girlfriend from work, and there was some construction going on, and where the jersey barriers ended a dear popped out, had no time to do anything whatsoever. Completely broadsided him, and i thought it was going to look like your explorer there. Pulled over, not a bit of damage anywhere.. must have been that winch bumper... haha
Yeah, big time shame... good thing you're A-OK though...

Deer flew about 20-30 feet in front of the truck flailed around for a few minutes then stumbled off into the brush, the ranger's back on the road, a "new" radiator, a couple bungees cords, new fog lights, and headlight bulbs and she's back in action, jsut has a bit of a crooked smile, well now it's more like a frown.

Once in 1998 or 1999, when my wife was driving the 'Tour, she was on a backroad in Georgia, on her way to work early one morning. A car in front of her hit a deer, and it basically flew over her as she was trying to stop and not hit the car, etc. Pretty crazy ! They can do a lot of damage. My father hit a deer in a rental car a few years ago, totalled the car. Luckily he bought the optional insurance-- just walked away !
