I had the same problem. I didn't think it would work but I tried wetsanding with 2k grit and buffed with rubbing compound and polish. It blended in the hard edge but the color mismatch remained. I had to repaint.

I might be able to live with a slight mismatch. I'm posting pics later.

Wow, Is Ford messing with us or what. For all of us it's only one door, but it's different doors on our cars. Mine was the front drivers side door.

Car has had the front end repainted a few times in its hard life. Someone along the way probably faded the paint halfway down the door and didn't take the ding strip off.

Sway,

"This page is not available"

frown That aside I'm sorry to hear about your car.

I'm also sorry to hear about everyone elses...mine had almost no color difference when I removed them. A little paint cleaner and polish cleard it right up. Guess I got lucky there.

Hey shifty,

Did you see my flaw?

Yours sounds worse than mine, but on mine, there was a noticeable crease that ran along the edge of the adhesive tape. As if the strips had been applied before the clearcoat was fully cured. "Scratch-Out" and a good polish took it right out--well mostly. It is nearly impssible to see, now, but it is still there.

Otherwise--bummer.
