to get the outer stub shaft out of the hub you have two options. Put the hub in a vice and use an air hammer to push the shaft out - NOT A SLEDGE, YOU WILL RUIN THE BEARINGS! Or the best method. Rent a driveshaft puller/pusher from Murray's/local auto parts store chain and push it out.
I figured after my axle still wouldnt come out after using a 20 ton press, it was a lost cause.
