I got some from www.podsplus.com. They had a slew of cover options, but I liked the plain clear protectors best. I'm willing to bet they are little different than any of the other clear plastic protectors out there.
I think they ran me $10.

2GB SanDisk Sansas are going for $120 at Best Buy, and I think there's a gift card that gets thrown in with 'em. Nanos are sweet for the size factor, but once you wrap one in a protective case so it doesn't get scratched up (assuming you care), you'll probably double the thickness. I'd personally rather sacrifice a gig of memory and save a stack of cash by getting a 1GB Creative Muvo Micro N200, Zen Nano Plus, or Muvo Slim (if you want a damn near flat player). But I'm not (and don't want to be) a slave to ITunes, either.

Is that the only way to feed music into an ipod? Can't just put your own mp3's in it?

No, you can load your own MP3s into it. I've yet to touch iTunes or any other subscription service with my Nano. The protectors I use are under 1mm each, so they certainly don't add to the bulk of the unit.

OK I was going to say. How can they be so popular yet you can't put your MP3's in it. "Slave to iTunes" threw me.
