do they wait until the very end of checkout to give you the discount?
i went all teh way up to the point where they ask for your email addy and it was the same price thru the education thing as it was not going thru the education thing.

i ordered mine from apple's site last week.. with normal shipping it will take about a week. plus the free engraving is fun. black 4G for me  my engraving: Dude What's mine say?

iPod accessories ship straight from the original manufacturer. Apple just sends the order to Bose or Griffin, or whomever.
I ordered an iPod and 3 accessories for my wife's Xmas gift. I got 4 seperate shipments coming from 3 entirely different parts of the nation (and the iPod itself from China) from 4 totally different suppliers.

You're right! The normal Nano prices came down, it looks like, so maybe they're not discounting. I DID get a discount on my 30g video though....

Make SURE you get the screen protectors for the Nano; it scratches up like crazy if you don't. Just taking a cotton towel across the face will scratch it up.
I've got a black 4GB unit and love it. My old 1GB iRiver went to the wife, but after tinkering with the Nano for a while, she's wanting an upgrade...

Yep - got a black 4 G for my wife from Apple, shipped from somewhere in CA and I had it like 3 days after ordering with standard shipping.
