but at the cost of diffusion. you don't see reference home audio systems with the tweeters on seperate stands a foot or more away. those tweeters are often sandwiched in between a pair of mids or otherwise very close to them.
as i said, moving the tweeters helps in a car audio app where kicks and/or time alignment isn't being used. but ultimately, it's a band-aid.
