The thump in the trunk was a Nakamichi PA1002 driving an a/d/s rs10.2 100W to each of 2 voice coils. The sub was mounted in an over built (1 1/4" thick MDF/plywood laminate, custom leather wrapped enclosure (Dnewman helped with the design specs - Thanks Dave)which I still have, but no pictures of it. The sub faced forward and nestled between the amps:

The other Nak, a PA504, sent 50W to each door. It was not the loudest system by any stretch, but it was very clean sounding. There was also a little juice in the caboose!
