Very True!
Since 9-11 there have been no terrorist actions on US soil so I think Bush is doing a great job.
What's that saying -- Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.
It took 6 years to plan and execute 9/11. Even if they began planning another attack immediately after 9/11 and have gone so far undetected, it could be years before anything happens and we truly know if the current anti-terrorism measures have been "successful" (and likewise, "unsuccessful").
Using your logic almost every President from George Washington to Bush Sr did a "great job" in regards to anti-terrorism. If there wasn't an attack, they must have done something right!

You're forgetting: liberals measure success by how many convictions there are after the attacks.
EDIT: Oh, and the prisons are in Poland.

Liberals, hell.
If Bush and his illegal methods are so successful, there should be frequent public trials, as guarenteed by law.
Oh wait, Conservatives apparently don't care about the law anymore. As long as they are secure.

Break the law or conspire to and you go to trial.

You still didn't answer the question. I think you're not answering it is because you think terrorists, who are not American citizens, are afforded the same rights as Americans, which is not true (well, it may be partially true now with some of the legislation and court rulings which will hopefully be overturned).

As Kremit pointed out, your defense budget is almost nothing. You lived under OUR nuclear umbrella during the Cold War. Your defense budget can be nil because of us. As Kremit also pointed out, the US pretty much is NATO, so you yourself admitted that we protect you. To claim that Canada isn't defended by us is deserving of a Gold Star of Comedy.
As for the "spying". The NYT made it sound as if Bush secretly ordered the random spying of every single American. In reality, we were only monitoring inbound calls to people with known ties to al Qaeda. Several members of the House knew about it, as did Senator Jay Rockefeller, ranking Democrat on the Senate Intelligence Commitee. And as we've now found out, they chose to publish this now because the author has a book coming out in a few months with more information on this. So yes, the left wing media machine is dictating the news cycle in order to sell books once again.
Bush should be applauded for his anti-terrorism measures.
as for you saying that america is nato, thats like saying peyton manning is the colts or brady is the patriots. Sure theyre a big part of it but not the team. You give me one example of the U.S. defending Canada. Canada was not really a part of the cold war, that was between you (USA) and USSR. Dont mix american political stances with canadian ones. The last time we were actively in a conflict was in korea.
