so what you guys think of it? Not a jab at americans but im sort of glad canada doesnt have a dept on the scale of the CIA or Homeland security. NOt too say i dont want canada undefended but i wouldnt want my arse hauled off to jail for some bs email i sent to someone.

This proves that there is never a istuation in which you can put complete trust in the government.
We have Right #1 and Right #2 to deal with this situation. #1 to tell the government they are full of [censored] when they do this. #2 if they don't get the picture.

And canada doesn't do it because no terrorist cares about attacking canada. Nothing worth attacking there.
And canada is defended by the United States. So if we really cared, we'd be spying on your citizens too. But we don't care.

let it be known canada is not defended by the USA. We are protected by ourselves and NATO.
there have been a few people hauled off to jail. Especially in the days after 9/11. Protestors and peace activists. I hate to bring up farenheit 9/11 but it does document it.

The government has NO RIGHT TO SPY ON YOU OR INVADE ANY ONE'S PRIVACY WITHOUT A LEGAL COURT ORDER.
It doesn't matter if you have nothing to hide or are building a dirty bomb in your basement. If the government (local or federal) wants to spy on you, they have to show a judge probable cause that you are violating or conspiring to violate the law.
At least, that is the way it is supposed to be. The vile "Patriot Act" has removed some hurdles for law enforcement.
More like "take a crap on the Constitution and Bill of Rights Act".

Yes, I am obviously a moron because I agree with the goverment. They don't go and spy on everyone, nor do they just go and spy on random people.
