See if you can file a police report and if they ask you who and why you think someone did this to you, tell them his name. They might not be able or willing to go after him, but at least there is a public record with his name attached. He would be foolish to ever try anything against you again.
Now is a time where you can choose to act like an adult or be a child and try for some revenge.
