268,000 km runs fine... will be a parts car i beleive he said 2nd gear is gone but it does drive and reverse fine, wondering if its not a stuck valve body or something?  lots more pics here: pics

A 98 Contour GL Sport with Zetec, leather steering wheel, spoiler, cloth seats, black mirrors, fog lights, tach? Interestingly optioned car .. didn't know they made the 98+ Sports that way (although I have seen one other similar to that - only difference being the other had a Duratec and no power windows/locks).

How much did it cost?
Sounds like it's got a tick like my old Zetec had. I think the valve lash is adjustable on them, but I'm not quite sure (been a long time since I looked into it).
The spoiler looks dealer installed, aftermarket, or trunk has been replaced since the car still has the rear window 3rd brake light.

200$ i bought it for the new tires and tail lights aside from that it will be parted motor was just started and its -10 out today, probably where the tick is from

 I would buy that, get a rebuilt trannie, and drop it off at a local Auto College and tell them to fix it. Thats one hell of a deal... IM jelious.

i don tknow if it needs a rebuilt tranny or if this one needs serviced
the fluid is bright pink, and i didnt notice any metal in it when i took a quick look and being it drives forward and reverse without clunking or grinding id had to assume theres no major broken parts in the tranny
