If it's posted on an internet forum, it's not behind anyone's back.
While I have not spoken with Lance, I'm certain Packrat was banned not for one instance, but multiple, controversial posts. A repeat offender who had many warnings and chances to act mature. It's about choices and consequences.
Again for those who missed it a while ago:
1. Remove head from nether regions.
2. Think.
3. Post.
Skipping steps one and two implies ignorance, stupidity, or in some cases, pwi/pwui.
