If you use SVT cams in the 3L, you need to use all the SVT timing components. The timing chains are specific to the gears on the Cams, and since your using the chains and the cams you have to use the gears on the crank as well. Thats why it's easiest to do the swap with a 3L engine and a SVT engine. And regardless of what cams you use, your going to want to get the engine tuned.
