OP FattyB iLLin CEG\'er F Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 190 Foxboro, MA	can someone show me where the starter is in the svt? it's frozen so i can't get my car to start. i'd push start, but i don't have any one to push. i plan to give it a tap with something or pour hot water over it. oh, and btw, i'm late for work... Are you insane! Yes pour hot water over your starter and risk soaking your clutch and flywheel! It is prob dead...I highly doubt you are anywhere near the temp necessary for you starter to freeze. HHHMMMM, Me thinks pouring hot water on your starter, then letting it freeze in the winter could be bad. By the way it's just under your throttle body towards the back. Then you would be dealing with blown fuses or alot more problems. OP FattyB iLLin CEG\'er F Joined: Apr 2003 Posts: 190 Foxboro, MA	haha. 1. totally joking about the hot water... 2. yes, my starter is frozen. ok, cold enough that the little thinger that is supose to spin out and engage gets stuck in place and does make a awful buzzing/whine (cookie for zerohour - but taken away for suggesting my battery may be dead) 3. i am the push start king, but the conditions (snow banks, ice, and frozen rain) made it a little difficult to get it out of the parking space I ended up begging a teenager on his way to school to give me a hand pushing. When the temperature drops below freezing, I have to try starting the car several times to losen up the starter, but above freezing i have no trouble. Friday here in MA was wretched, and the starter didn't feel like getting out of bed. I do realize that it will need to be replaced eventually. Former owner of a 1998 SF CSVT
