Do not cut anything to get the lights open...geez.
Use an oven preheated to 350 degrees. Remove the metal brackets from the headlights before putting them in. I also removed the level for the first headlight, but it's not necessary. I did the second one with it still on and everything was fine. Do one headlight at a time, and put them in first for 5min, inspect and try to pry off the lense cover. Use a small flathead screw driver to remove the lense. If it doesn't come off or the seal hardens again, put in for another 2 min or more as necessary. You will need a torx bit (I think its a #30?) to remove the chrome from the housing. Before resealing the lense to the housing make sure that all of the previous glue is gone. It may take a lot of time, but be patient. I used black RTV silicone sealant to reseal the first headlight and then tried the black home industrial strength silicone window sealant on the second. The RTV silicone works a lot better and sealed properly. The home window sealant did not.
I just did this mod to my car about 3 months ago. Also no need to acid dip these parts. I don't know why everyone does this. Just take some high grit sand paper (1200-6000) and sand the grill. The headlights I didn't even bother sanding off. I tried taping off the chrome portion for the parking lights and as someone mentioned earlier it will rip the chrome off. So just paint the entire chrome piece black. Don't worry about the parking light/turn signal they still light up fine and can be seen in daylight.
As for the taillights I also did them. I think I applied 3 light coats and it will look nice and dark. The light still shows up plenty bright again even during daylight.
It will look really nice when everything is said and done. I'll try taking pictures of my car sometime tomorrow. I've been really busy and the weather sucks so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get back with pictures for sure or not.
Good luck!
Edit: I forgot to add that the lenses have tabs around the edges so once you have all of the previous sealant removed the lense will freely snap in and out of the housing. It makes it easy for reassembling everything. Just make sure you apply enough silicone on the housing so that it seals good. Remember to much is better then to little. Because if you don't use enough you will have to pry it all apart and start over.

Wow, the headlights and tails look amazing. I wouldn't touch it anymore at all. Looks perfect.
People go to crazy tinting the tails and it doesn't look "stock" anymore. Not sure what word I'm looking for but it looks cheap and overdone with dark tint.
