I think the 'here' vs. 'hear' is what MxRacer was trying to point out.

do they make an accent GT? I thought that was the elantra? I almost thought about getting an elantra GT 5 door . Kinda like the poor man's saab. I think they have like 130hp and pretty respectable handling. Couldn't pass up the V6 'tour though

come on guys, Hyundai's arent bad cars at all. I know a guy that has a 98 Elantra GLS, it has 140K miles on it. Only options it has is the Automatic and cruse. The only repairs he has had to do is a coil pack. Everything else was regular schedualded maitenence; spark plugs, wires, oil changes, filters and so on. Its a great little car, The ATX shifts wounderfully, it doesnt feel like a shitbox ATX that most car manufactors throw in any old I4 these days. it rides wounderfully and is very confertable to drive. Ive seriously thought about getting a 2001 or newer Elantra, just from what I have seen and heard from this car... But I just love my contour too much to give it up just yet.

True I have driven an Elantra and they do shift nicely. Not that I would run out and get one. But they have been improving big time. Look at the tiburon, it has made quit a leap in the last few years.

Some people are such pricks on here.. anywho to keep it on topic.. nice little car man, gets ya from a to b! good for your situation
I took one for a spin, almost bought the same exact car as a beater, kinda wish I did.. my tour is a piece of unreliable trash.. worse then my 96 was. unfortunatly the accent was just to cramped for me, that was my only problem, oh and it was gutless.. lol just like my contour.
at least you got something a hell of alot more reliable, and better on gas! good commuter car, congrats on the purchase!
